We have been developing an Information Retrieval and Navigation System IRENA (Information REtriever & NAvigator). By cooperative interaction the system makes narrow the search area and then achives the efficient approach to the requested item.

At the begining of the retrieval the request is not necessalily concrete. Also when telling the request the utterances used to be linguistically ambiguous. Our system IRENA adopted a strategy of Fuzzy processing by means of asigning each Fuzzy membership function to each ambiguous linguistic components. On the process the system tries to adopt those Fuzzy membership functions properly based on the progress of the linguistic interaction.

Current our system IRENA consults international travel tours. The picture listed below is a copy of the disply of the stand-alone version of IRENA. We have a plan to demonstrate the Web version of IREAN on this URL soon.
